Cork had a good win over Kerry North in the Munster championship semi final at Hospital on Saturday evening. The Rebels wind assisted in the first half
did well but found scores rather hard to secure. Their five point lead at the break did not seem sufficient. They opened with an early punched point by Aidan Moynihan. Cork replied immediately when Ryan Harkin and the impressive Micheal Cahalane worked a good movement for Anthony Spillane to kick over. Kerry full back Cathal O' Loing made some great clearances and he combined well with Greg Horan who
placed Eamon McAllen for a fine point. Cork led 1-4 to 0-2 at the interval.
For the second half Cork moved Cillian O'Connor to partner Anthony Spillane at midfield. Kerry had an early pointed free by Jack Savage. Cork stood up to the challenge against the wind with Niall Hayes, Micheal Cahalane and the outstanding Kevin Cremin controlling the defence. Cahalane placed Aidan Moynihan for a point with Kerry replying by Kieran Brick. In the 12th minute of this half the turning point came - Ricard Cahalane got through the defence and his effort at goal was saved by Darragh O'Shea with the rebound going to the well placed Don O'Driscoll who netted and put the Rebels 2-5 to 0-4 clear.

Clare registered their first score soon after when Daithi Collins pointed a free. During this half the Cork defence worked the ball out of defence to great effect ensuring regular supply to their inside full forward line where Aaron O'Brien, Daniel Culloty and Jack O'Mahony caused many problems and in the 12th minute Michael O'Brien and Josh Pyne worked the ball well out of the full backline to find Aaron O'Brien out on the wing and following a great solo run he set up Daniel Culloty who kicked to the net. It was all Cork over the next few sequences of play with Aaron O'Brien, Daniel Culloty, Ronan Bransfield adding points that surged them into a 1-6 to 0-2 lead by the 19th minute. From here to the interval Clare made a good recovery and a goal by Conor Deasy brought them back into the hunt trailing 1-6 to 1-2. Cork were denied a goal soon after when Jack O'Mahony struck the crossbar but late scores by Daniel Culloty and Ronan Bransfield had them in a good position at the break when leading by 1-8 to 1-2. Gradually Tipperary settled having points by Brian Healy and Josh Keane to level matters at 0-2 each. Exchanged were keenly contested for the rest of the half with both teams enjoying their fair share of possession. Cork missed a gilt edged scoring chance when a great movement started by Paul Sheehan eventually led to Aidan Moynihan gaining possession but his effort in front of goal went narrowly wide. Up front the Cork forwards linked up very well as a unit and were strongly supported by the midfield duo of Ryan Harkin and Anthony Spillane. Early pressure saw Aidan Moynihan (2) Ricard Cahalane and Jason Crowley have points by the 44th minute 0-8 to 0-5. Tipperary always looked like getting back into contention and it was only with six minutes remaining that Cork sensed victory when Cillian O'Connor cut in along the endline to set up Aidan Moynihan who finished the only goal of the game to the net that set Cork on their way to victory.
