Rebel Óg Fé 16 Cork County ‘A’ Hurling Final Aghabullogue 2-11 Newcestown 0-16. Aghabullogue retained the Rebel Óg Cork County Fé 16 A grade hurling title in a welter of excitement before a huge crowd at Cloughduv last evening. Despite two early Aghabullogue goals Newcestown edged their way back into contention, with some magnificent points to draw level , 2- 3 to 0- 9 at the short whistle. Both teams dominated proceedings for various stages during the second period and the standard of hurling was extremely high with scores exchanged at a frenetic pace. Newcestown were in a comfortable position with five minutes remaining as they led by 3 points and the Aghabullogue attack seemed to have waned. However an amazing late surge saw the skilful Ian Barry Murphy slot over 4 points, to seal a dramatic one point victory for the Mid Club. Réiteoir- Nathan Wall (Carrigaline).
